How can you support us?
Apart from the sale of some farm products and a few fiscal advantages granted by the government, the Rewari project depends entirely on gifts from sympathisers. Here are four specific areas where your financial support – either one-off or regular – would be most welcome:
- The « family welfare » programme
At present, this programme brings help to 200 low-income families with children attending the different tutorial centres. A monthly contribution of 17€ (tax deductible, in Belgium) covers not only a child’s schooling (with necessary materials, uniform, nutrition and medical check-ups), but also help the whole family in its struggle against poverty. The parents regularly receive parcels of clothes, warm blankets in the winter, and also some financial assistance enabling them to buy essential items. In most of the sponsored families, the mother is a housewife and the father earns around 60€ a month working in a factory or a small shop.Material assistance, health and hygiene awareness training, moral and social motivation..., all is done with the aim of encouraging the children and their parents to develop their full potential at every level, so that they find the means to climb out of poverty by themselves.

- The health care programme
A monthly gift of 10 € would enable the mobile dispensary to make a monthly journey, to a remote rural community within a radius of 80 km from Rewari. The medical team could thus bring basic health care to people who are unable to afford the services of a doctor.

- The completion of the Good Shepherd School
The sum of 21,000 € (2,600 € per class) is required to finance the completion of the construction work and the installation of doors and windows, electricity and sanitation fittings, iron grills and ventilators. All gifts are most gratefully received. A grant of 1,000 € or more would entitle the donor organisation to have its name inscribed on a commemorative plaque on one of the new classroom walls.
If you’re a leader or an active member of a group, why not organise a special fund-raising event – a charity dinner, concert or sale, a sponsored sports activity… ?
We are most grateful for all the initiatives that have already been taken, which have enabled this ambitious project to get off the ground!
